Ekaterina Smirnova is a student assistant at the Institut für Europäische Politik (IEP), Berlin. She has studied communication science at the Immanuel Kant University of Kaliningrad (Russia) and is currently doing her M.A. in culture and literature of Eastern and Central Europe at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Before joining the IEP, Ekaterina worked as a project assistant at the Robert Bosch Center for Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia of the German Council on Foreign Relations and in the parliamentary office of MP Doris Barnett.
Due to her research interests including postsocialist and postcolonial studies on the CIS countries and Central Asia, Ekaterina is especially motivated to participate in SEnECA, where she is involved in the Work Package 1 “New Forms and Priorities for Scientific Cooperation”.
